As couples or interethnic marriages have become more common, many people have been compelled to reevaluate their perception and attitude toward non-“traditional” relationships. However, ethnic boundary dynamics – marking, maintaining and negotiating ethnic identity boundaries – can still play an important role in shaping partner choice.

So how do interethnic relationships navigate today’s socio-cultural landscape? What are the challenges? Or the gratifications? What makes them different / similar to a relationship in which the partners are of the same ethnicity? After all, is it just one more difference?
